YOUR MIND IS NOT THE PROBLEM

My body of work is a vibrant canvas that celebrates a blend of experiences within the neurodivergent spectrum. With the bright touch of chalk pastels and bold accents of white acrylic paint, I invite viewers to join me on a creative journey to convey the complexities of neurodivergence. As an individual diagnosed with inattentive ADHD, my art seeks to illuminate the positives, the unique perspectives, and the extraordinary creativity that flourish within the neurodivergent mind.

In my artistic exploration, I merge text, form, and color to capture the essence of the neurodivergent experience. Using Photoshop to manipulate and enhance photographs I have taken,  as references as well as experimenting with different marks of chalk pastel, I create a visual narrative that mirrors the moments and encounters within our  I, and countless others, have encountered in our neurodivergent livvess.

Rather than focusing on the challenges, my work is a celebration of the strengths and talents that often accompany neurodivergence. When allowed to exist in an environment that encourages their gifts, people with attention deficit disorders can grow into adults that thrive in our constantly changing world. Ultimately, my art is a testament to the idea that neurodivergence is not something to be fixed or normalized but celebrated.

As I draw from my personal journey with inattentive ADHD, I hope to inspire others to embrace their neurodivergent qualities and to recognize the inherent positivity within them. My art is a vibrant tribute to the extraordinary experiences that flourish within the neurodivergent mind.
